Tournament Bracket Generator

Enter a list of names to build a single-elimination bracket. Click a name to advance the winner through each round to the final, then print or share the result.

Participants

Byes are added automatically when the number of players isn't a power of two. Players with a bye advance to the next round automatically.

How It Works

Single-Elimination Format

In a single-elimination (knockout) tournament, every match has one winner and one loser. The loser is eliminated, and the winner advances to the next round. This continues until one participant remains as the champion.

Byes and Bracket Size

A balanced bracket needs a number of players that is a power of two (2, 4, 8, 16, 32, …). When your list isn't a power of two, the generator adds byes so the field fills the nearest larger power of two. Top seeds receive the byes and advance automatically to the second round.

Seeding

By default, participants are placed in list order using standard tournament seeding, which spreads the strongest seeds apart so they can only meet in later rounds. Enable Randomize seeding to shuffle the field for a purely random draw.

Advancing Winners

Click any participant in a match to mark them as the winner. They move into the next round automatically. Changing an earlier result clears the affected downstream matches so you can re-pick. When the final is decided, the champion is shown at the top.

Print & Share

Use Print to produce a clean printable bracket (or save as PDF). Use Share to copy a link that reopens the bracket with the same participants. Everything runs in your browser — no data is uploaded.
